The Colorado Lawyers Committee is a nonpartisan consortium of over 70 Colorado law firms dedicated to creating and increasing opportunities for children, the poor and other disadvantaged communities through pro bono legal advocacy, negotiation and litigation.
This past year, almost 1,000 volunteers contributed more than 6,500 hours and $3.2 million worth of time to our 29 projects and task forces.
One of the unique characteristics of the Lawyers Committee is our focus on major public policy issues and systemic change, rather than individual representation — unless it’s a case that impacts a larger population. Our volunteer opportunities include short-term commitments, such as Denver Legal Night and other clinics, Hate Crimes Education program and Nonprofit Clinic, and long-term involvement in other task forces.
Our task forces often include lawyers from several firms working together to solve legal problems. This model of collaboration gives attorneys the flexibility to be as active on cases as their schedules allow.
